We wrapped up the Nairobi PRGN October 2025 Conference with our Istanbul presentation. We are both proud and excited to be hosting communication professionals from around the world in Türkiye.
There’s plenty of work ahead until May 2026!
Notes from Nairobi:
• With its 33-year legacy, PRGN feels far more than a professional network—it’s a true family. And when communicators come together, conversations are insightful and exchanges are genuinely heartfelt.
• SEO is in the past—now it’s time for GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). Standing out in AI-based searches is more important than ever. The goal is no longer to teach search engines but to teach AI, which gives PR agencies a crucial role. Sean Dowdall’s presentation on this topic was full of enlightening insights that expanded every professional’s perspective.
Agentic AI and the effective use of artificial intelligence will likely remain the top topics on the PR industry’s agenda for quite some time.
• Nairobi’s surprisingly lush nature is both astonishing and enchanting—many areas feel just like Bali. Meanwhile, the construction sector in the city center is booming, with massive buildings rising everywhere and hundreds of people bustling around construction sites.
• Tourists generally prefer the Westlands district. Seeing Turkish brands LC Waikiki and Beko in shopping centers and on the streets there fills us with pride.
• Restaurants such as Carnivore, Cultiva, and Talisman offer some of the best culinary experiences of a lifetime. Beyond safaris and tea farms, Nairobi offers countless unique dining spots for unforgettable experiences.
• Around the world, people have largely said farewell to cigarettes of all kinds—including e-cigarettes—with Türkiye and Spain being the last two holdouts.
We return from Nairobi—and especially inspired by the hospitality of Gilbert Manirakiza and his team—with great motivation for Istanbul.
