An extraordinary opening in Turkmenistan…

We are in Ashgabat for the opening ceremony of the Presidential Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex of Turkmenistan, whose construction and renovation were completed by Çalık Holding subsidiary Gap İnşaat, hosted by the Presidency of Turkmenistan.

Held as part of celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, the opening ceremony was attended by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, representatives of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), ambassadors of countries represented in Turkmenistan, representatives of foreign missions and many invited guests.

Renovated with the aim of preserving the centuries-old heritage of Ahal-Teke horses, an important part of Turkmenistan’s historical and cultural identity, and passing it on to future generations, the complex spans approximately 731,000 square metres and has increased its total horse capacity to 1,200.
